Lots of wasps in one spot
A steady stream of wasps flying in and out of the same gap, often in a roof, wall, air brick or hedge.
A papery nest
Grey, papery nests in lofts, sheds, garages, under the eaves or in bushes. They can grow to the size of a football or bigger.
Wasps indoors
Wasps turning up in rooms, especially near the loft hatch or windows, often in late summer.
Chewing sounds
A faint crackling or chewing noise from a wall or ceiling can mean a nest is being built inside.
Why it's worth acting fast
A wasp nest keeps growing through the summer. By late summer a nest can hold thousands of wasps, and they get more defensive the bigger it gets.
Unlike bees, wasps can sting more than once, and stings can cause serious allergic reactions in some people.
How we raid wasps
Raid.
Your Raider finds the nest, checks it's wasps (not bees) and gives you a free quote before doing anything.
Remove.
We treat the nest directly. Wasps carry the treatment inside, and activity normally dies down within a day or so.
Relax.
Your treatment is guaranteed. If the nest is still active afterwards, we'll come back and re-treat at no extra cost.
What to do right now
Do
- Keep children and pets away from the nest
- Keep windows near the nest shut
- Note where the wasps are going in and out
Don't
- Don't block the entrance, they may chew their way into your home
- Don't knock, spray or try to remove the nest yourself
- Don't swat wasps near the nest, it can set off the others

Wasps: your questions answered
Usually the nest is treated rather than taken down. The treatment kills the nest, and old nests aren't reused, so it's normally fine to leave it in place. If you want it removed and it's safe to reach, ask your Raider.
Your Raider will check first. Honey bees are important pollinators and are usually best rehomed by a beekeeper rather than treated, and we'll tell you honestly if that's the case.
Activity usually drops off within a day or so of treatment. You may see a few wasps returning to the nest for a short while, which is normal.
We wouldn't recommend it. Disturbed wasps attack in numbers, and nests are often in awkward spots like roofs and wall cavities. A trained Raider has the right kit to do it safely.
